Are you whipping your hair ?

The kids are growing up quicker these days, aren't they !

Will Smiths daughter, Willow Smith has released her very first single ( Which she is set to perform on Ellen, November 2nd ) at the age of nine ! Her song 'Whip My Hair' has left some puzzled to the meaning behind the lyrics. The tiny star ( surely you can call her that ? ) has said,
"Whip My Hair means don't be afraid to be yourself, and don't let anybody tell you that that's wrong. Because the best thing is you."

And I tell you one thing, I don't think I was that wise at when I was nine !

Who am I kidding, I'm still not that wise.

The song ( although, not really my cup of tea ) is surely a good indicator of whats to come for Ms Smith. The song has already had an enormous response and earlier this week twelve year old 'Chang Chang' danced her heart out to the song on Ellen. Check out the clip here

And yes, I'm a big fan of Ellen. Not too mention Phil, Martha, Oprah and the tragic lives of the people of Salem. Because that's what 'housewives' do right ?

Anyway, one things for sure, the gal does have some serious hair to whip !

What do you think dolls ? Will Willow grow into the next Rihanna ? Or is this just a glimpse of a future trainwreck star haunted by tabloids ?

Happy Thursday !

P.S - And just incase you couldn't tell, the housewife bit was a joke.

As Cute As A Button.

Despite being a mother of a gorgeous baby ( well toddler actually ) I'm not a fan of the whole 'bring your baby to kmart and we will put them in a flower pot and take photos' kinda thing. I think they look tacky. When Pacman was six weeks old, we got some gorgeous black and white photos taken by a family friend. They were simple, but lovely.

There is something about Anne Geddes though.

She takes photos in all sorts of sceneries ( including flower pots ! ) and words can't even describe how wonderful they are. I honestly, couldn't think of a single word that would describe the photos she takes so here are three of my favourites.

I could of posted so many more.
Her new book 'Beginnings' is out now and has some absolutely beautiful photos.
For more photos, a look at her new book, aswell as a behind the scenes video her website.
Her new book along with previous books ( plus calenders, journals, planners ) can be found here at Borders.

Do you think they are adorable ? Or do they belong in the same category as other baby photos ( which you might disagree with me and think are are lovely too ).

Baby Eqypt Dean

image from here

On October 14th, Alicia Keys and husband 'Swizz Beatz' ( real name, Kasseem Dean ) welcomed their baby boy Egypt Dean.

On October 18th the singer tweeted " There is no word to properly describe LOVE, to describe BLISS, to express a FEELING like this!!! Thank U 4 your love, support & prayers! ;-) "

A big congratulations to the couple on their first child. To me, Alicia Keys seems like such a sweetheart and boy can she sing.

But ( come on, you knew it was coming ) Egypt ? As a first name ?

I'm open to unusual names. I am. I'm open to names of countries and citys too. London, Paris, Brooklyn, India - Sure. Some of them are a little unoriginal, but each to their own.

But Egypt ? For some reason it just doesn't 'fit' to me.

Of course, in Hollywood strange names are 'the norm' and as far as Egypt goes, it definitely could of been worse.

Forget Apple and Sunday Rose, they seem relatively normal compared to :

Jason Lee's son, Pilot Inspektor

Sylvester Stallone's son, Sage Moonblood
Frank Zappa's daughters, Moon Unit and Diva Muffin

Penn Jillette's daughter, Moxie CrimeFighter. When his daughter was born, the comedian/magician said "We chose her middle name because when she's pulled over for speeding she can say, `But officer, we're on the same side, My middle name is CrimeFighter."
So Dolls, where are you putting your vote for Egypt ? Yay or Nay ?
Any favourite celebrity baby names out there ?

Have a fabulous Tuesday,

After seeing others talk about Bloglovin I thought I would see what all the fuss is about.

So far, it seems like GoogleReader but simpler. I'm a simple person, so far I am liking it. Apart from the fact that to 'claim' my blog I have to post the link in a blogpost.

Mildly inconvenient as Pacman is snuggled up to one side of me leaving me one arm to type.
Surely typing one handing might win me a few sympathy 'follows' ? So click the link !

So that I'm not only loving my own link in this post, I'm leaving you with my some of my favourite posts this week.

Counter Obsession talks 10 Day Cycles. Inspiration and Motivation rolled into one great blog post.

This and That and a terrific work experience story.

MsCritique and her minty fresh secret

Yes and Yes tell how to rock at blogging, life or both.

Keeping Up With Me shares some amazing online stores.

Baby Bump Watching : Nicole Richie

I just adore the tiny tot's of Hollywood.

I'm always celebrity baby bump watching. I'm the girl who will see the 'Brad and Ange Adopt New Baby' headline on a cover of a magazine and believe it every time.

Two of my favourites are Harlow Winter Kate Madden and Sparrow James Midnight Madden, the adorable kids of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. Unlike a lot of people, I actually adore their names. I think they suit the toddler and her little brother to a tee.

photo from here

Just last month little Sparrow celebrated his first birthday but could the tiniest Madden be on his way to becoming a big brother already ?
Seen in last weeks Ok! Magazine aswell as here, Nicole Richie showed a hint of a baby bump hiding under her shirt. Not just an 'ate a big lunch' belly, but a definite more rounded tummy.

Could there be another little Madden-Richie baby on the way ?

I'm definitely hoping so !

Have a fabulous day,

Mini Shopaholic

After all my time away, I thought you all deserve something a little special. A first for The Girl in Red Heels, a book review.

Before you all click the 'X' in the top right corner, let me tell you that it's not just any book review. But the latest installment of the 'Shopaholic' series, 'Mini Shopaholic'.

For anyone who has read the others, you'll know how brilliant the Sophie Kinsella is. She is a great writer and the Shopaholic series are very entertaining, witty and always a good read, even if you're not really a 'chick-lit' fan.

Mini Shopaholic follows two years on from the previous book, 'Shopaholic and Baby'.

With her darling two year old daughter, Minnie, by her side, Becky Bloomwood is just like any other mother ( or maybe not. ) Her shopping habits have starting rubbing off on her daughter ( who, at two, can even confirm eBay purchases ), she is planning a suprise party at the height of a financial crisis and trying to convince her husband, Luke, that a second baby is on the cards, even though Minnie on her own is a bit of a handful.
Complete with the familiar Becky Bloomwood humour we all know and love, this story is definitely a 'grab a block of chocolate and put a whole afternoon aside to read' book.

The best part, it's left open for a follow up book and while there is no talk as yet over at the Sophie Kinsella camp ( or atleast, her website ), I know that I won't be the only Shopaholic lover holding my breathe for another book.
So what are you waiting for ? Get reading Dolls !

Jessica Alba : Crazy, Blinde - or Both ?

I know, I know. I said I was taking a 'short' break - so where have I been ? Busy. But I'm back and straight back into blogging about all things The Girl in Red Heels loves. Like Celebrities.

The lovely Miss Devine wrote a post recently mentioning Jessica Alba. You all know who she is. Drop dead gorgeous, wife of Cash Warren and mother to one of the cutest toddlers in Hollywood, Honor Marie Warren.

Anyway, the 'Good Luck Chuck' actress recently told Ok! Magazine "Every actress out there is more beautiful than me".

No, that's not a typo. Yes, you read it right. Is she crazy ? I think so.

She went on to say "I used to have anxiety attacks before I did the photo shoots".

I'm sorry, but if I looked the way she did ? I'd be posing anywhere and everywhere.

As for her post baby body, she says "My breasts are saggy, I’ve got cellulite, my hips are bigger, but I love it".

She does say, "I’m far less self-conscious now I have her to worry about".

But still. Stretch Marks aside ( that's if she actually has them - I have a hard time believing that ) I think she is beautiful.

Thoughts ?

Thanks for having me darlings, it's lovely to be back.
